Dino day!

Since we are reading The Great Dinosaur Mystery Solved by Ken Ham, I thought it would be fun to have a Dinosaur-theme for today. So, after our morning reading, we had dinosaur (hot dogs & eggs [green/red food coloring) for lunch & lava juice(red tea). Jonathan got really grossed out and couldn't finish his. I guess he has too active of an imagination! ha!

We also created a dino-style land complete with a volcano. Truth be told, I am sure it is not the Biblically correct layout.
No one really knows exactly "when" the dinosaurs died. There are all types of theories. I personally like to believe that they existed right along-side Adam and Eve and then became extinct after the flood. That is how the book we are reading presents it, and I just like that theory.

I have also heard theories (of those that they were part of the gap theory) that they came before Adam & Eve and during the gap between Genesis 1:1 & 1:2. Regardless, we know that GOD CREATED. And we wanted to create and have fun ourselves.

Wow! I'm amazed at your patience! The boys look like they loved making that. So cute! (I like your dishes, too!)

I personally believe like you do about the dinosaurs. Some believe they even went into the ark during Noah's flood: Noah took baby dinosaurs into the ark! That seems plausible!

I find the pre-Adamic creation theory interesting, and also the gap theory.

But, then, the Bible says that "death came into the world by sin" so I guess nothing died before Adam sinned.

'Course some people say that the pre-Adamic creation sinned and died when God judged it....

Oh, well, the secret things belong the the Lord, right?

We used to play "hunt the dinosaurs" with our boys when they were little. We'd have them hid their eyes, and we'd hide their plastic dinosaurs around the house (like Easter eggs) and turn off the lights. We'd hand the boys flashlights and have them go around the dark house hunting the dinosaurs. Whoever found the most dinosaurs won a little prize! They loved it.

We also used to play "nine door hide and seek" because we lived in a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment and there were loads of doors: to the 2 bedrooms; to the 2 bathrooms; to the water-heater closet; to the bedroom closets -- 9 in all. We'd have them hide behind one of the 9 doors, and then go looking for them. They loved that, too!

Yes Lisa, and there is just something about the consistency of a hot dog that made it seem more realistic. It all looked pretty disgusting.
